Alicia Alonso President Obama invited the International Ballet Festival of Havana

Havana , Sep 21 (EFE ).- The director of the Ballet Nacional de Cuba, The former dancer and choreographer Alicia Alonso, now the president invited United States , Barack Obama, to travel to Cuba in October with family to attend the International Ballet Festival of Havana she presides.
"I invite the President of the States Together to come to Cuba Ballet Festival with his wife and daughters see the beauty of art, love and life , "said Alonso, English, during a rally of intellectuals and artists to ask release of five Cubans imprisoned in the United States for espionage.
The  Edition 22 of the International Ballet Festival of Havana, from 28 October to 7 next November , will highlight the return of American Ballet Theatre ( ABT ) to Cuba after 50 years, and the presence of New York City Ballet (formerly Ballet Caravan) , where Alonso began his career as a classical dancer in the U.S..
Alicia Alonso thanked also a group of filmmakers and artists , including  include Oliver Stone, Michael Moore , Danny Glover, Susan Sarandon, Benicio del Toro , Sean Penn , Bonnie Raitt and Ry Cooder , who would join the initiative to send a letter asking President Obama release of the Cubans.
"It's amazing how this group of noble intellectual people have written that letter and had the courage make it known and write the U.S. president , "said Alonso, that last June he received a tribute from the ABT in New York 's 90th  years to meet in December.
At the event, entertained by musicians  and which was unveiled a mural dedicated to peace , also spoke  President of the Parliament of the island , Ricardo Alarcon , who also  hailed " the noble gesture with gratitude those who represent the best of a people who will always be our brother. "
Cubans Gerardo Hernández , René González , Ramón Labañino , Fernando Gonzalez and Antonio Guerrero were convicted in 2001 by a U.S. court prison sentences ranging from 15 years to double life imprisonment for espionage and conspiracy , among other charges.
In  the island , agents are considered " heroes "who fought against terrorism, because the Cuban government claims that spying to prevent attacks against the island, without posing any threat to U.S. security .
